Air Fryer Sausage Crescent Cheese Delights
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of ground spicy pork sausage
- 2 cups of finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon of crushed dried rosemary leaves
- 1 can (8 ounces) of refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
Instructions:
- Cut out three 8-inch rounds from cooking parchment paper. Fit one round into the bottom of the air fryer basket and lightly coat with cooking spray.
- In a sizable bowl, thoroughly combine the sausage, cheddar cheese, and rosemary using either your hands or a spoon.
- Roll out the crescent dough on a flat surface and dust each side with flour. Cut the dough into roughly 1/4-inch pieces using a pizza cutter or knife.
- Gradually incorporate the pieces of crescent dough into the sausage mixture until evenly mixed.
- Form the mixture into 42 balls, each about 1 1/4 inches in size. Place 14 balls on the parchment paper in the air fryer basket. Chill the remaining balls until it’s time to cook them.
- Set the air fryer to 400°F and cook for 6 minutes. Then, remove the basket, carefully flip the sausage balls using tongs, and continue cooking for another 3 to 6 minutes until they are browned and the dough is fully cooked in the center.
- Keep the cooked sausage balls warm under foil while you bake the remaining batches with the new parchment paper rounds.
Tips:
- Air fryer temperatures can vary depending on the brand and model. If your air fryer doesn’t have the exact temperature setting required, check your manual for recommended settings.
- Don’t preheat your air fryer with just the parchment paper inside.
- Using parchment paper helps catch any cheese that melts during cooking, which makes cleanup easier.
Enjoy these savory bites, perfect for any gathering or as a tasty snack!
