The question in the above post is genuine. Why does WWE treat King of Strong Style so commonly? He is a gem in the pro wrestling industry and was hailed as one of the best pro wrestlers to walk around in his time with NJPW back in 2002.
After moving his base to the WWE, Shinsuke made his WWE NXT debut and had a phenomenal race as the NXT Champion. When everyone demanded a push on the main list for King of Strong Style, he was moved to Friday Night Smackdown as part of the main list in 2017.

After losing that match, he turned the heel, and since then he has been treated like any other regular star on the list.
