“Heartfelt Tribute”
Bob Saget’s daughter Lara is opening up about her late father in a touching tribute shared on Instagram Thursday.
“To anyone afraid to love, Unconditional love is the greatest of gifts,” Lara, 32, began. “My dad loved everything he had. He had so many reasons to be scared to love. So many loved ones kept dropping the body. Instead of being scared, he loved more. I am beyond grateful to receive and to give that love.”
The message was shared along with a sweet black-and-white photo of a young Lara snuggled up to her father, with their noses touching and little Lara’s arms around her father’s.
“Love completely and be kind,” she finished the emotional post. “Of all the lessons he taught me, these feel the biggest.”
The comments of the post were filled with an outpouring of love and support for Lara and the other surviving members of the Saget family.
“I love you forever, Lara,” wrote Bob’s wife and Lara’s stepmother, Kelly Rizzo. Full House star Dave Coulier’s wife, Melissa, also shared a message of support to Lara, adding “I love you so much!”
Saget, who is perhaps best known for his role as Danny Tanner on Full House, was confirmed dead on January 9th, 2021 after he was found unresponsive in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando. At the time, he was in Florida after a performance in Jacksonville as part of his ‘I Don’t Do Negative’ comedy tour.
Following the announcement of Saget’s tragic death, tributes poured in from the actor’s heartbroken friends.
“I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby,” Saget’s Full House co-star John Stamos tweeted.
“Bob was the most loving, compassionate, and generous man. We are deeply saddened that he is no longer with us but know that he will continue to be by our side to guide us as gracefully as he always has,” said Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who shared the role of Michelle Tanner on Full House.
