What’s even better is that you can easily make these delicious rock buns using your air fryer. Let’s dive into this quick and easy recipe!
Ingredients for Air Fryer Rock Buns:
To prepare these scrumptious air fryer rock buns, you will need the following ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup raisins or currants
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Preparing the Air Fryer:
Start by preheating your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes. This ensures that the air fryer is adequately heated and ready to bake the rock buns.
2. Mixing the Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir the dry ingredients together until well incorporated.
3. Adding the Butter:
Add the cold and cubed unsalted butter to the dry ingredients. Using your fingertips or a pastry cutter, incorporate the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Incorporating the Raisins:
Once the butter is evenly distributed, add the raisins or currants to the mixture. Toss them gently to ensure they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
5. Preparing the Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the large egg, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
6. Combining Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients. Using a spatula or wooden spoon, gently fold the mixture until a sticky dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
7. Forming the Rock Buns:
Using a spoon or your hands, scoop out portions of the dough and shape them into small buns. Place the formed buns onto a parchment-lined air fryer basket, leaving some space between each bun for air circulation.
8. Air Frying the Rock Buns:
Carefully transfer the parchment-lined basket into the preheated air fryer. Cook the rock buns at 350°F (175°C) for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
9. Serving:
Once the rock buns are done, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. These delicious treats are best enjoyed warm with a cup of tea or coffee.

With this simple recipe, you can whip up a batch of mouthwatering air fryer rock buns in no time. Whether you’re craving a sweet snack or need a dessert for a special occasion, these rock buns are sure to impress. Give them a try and indulge in their irresistible flavor and texture!
